“Fairy Tales Come to Life” at Story Land
When I was a little girl, my parents would take me up to the White Mountains for vacation. One of my favorite places to visit was Story Land; in fact, I still have a sparkly star wand that I got there. Story Land, in Glen, NH, is a fairy tale themed amusement park specifically designed for kids, but is definitely fun for adults, too! I was super excited when we were able to take our daughter there for the first time, not only because I wanted L to experience the fun, but because I was thrilled to go back! We have taken her twice now – once when she was 3 and once when she was 5 (and little brother was 1). Both times were great, as there is just so much to do for all ages! I am sure that we will make many more visits, even as the kiddos get older.
There is something for everyone at Story Land. There are rides such as flying fish…
shoes that go up and down…
baby roller coasters that start in an igloo…
and our favorite little water ride…
There are also a few driving rides that my daughter loves… they just make me hope her skills greatly improve over the next 10 years… (these are great rides for the super littles, as mom or dad can sit in the back and hold him/her)
There are shows, including this favorite where the veggies sing…
And the opportunity to meet Cinderella, which is amazing whether you are 3 or 5…
One really cool feature is that there are little statues throughout the park that have the date on them. Thus, you can take the same picture in different years and see how your littles have grown!
There is also a little splash pad and a water ride where you can get super wet, so I would suggest bringing a bathing suit or some extra clothes if your kiddos like the water. There are plenty of places for food, however, if you go early in the season, not all of the restaurants are open; it was a bit of a challenge to find an open food kiosk when we went in the end of June. Keep in mind that you can bring in your own food, so that is definitely a lunch option!
There is so much to do at Story Land and I’ve barely scratched the surface with this post; make sure to check out their website for maps and information about the park!! I hope that your family has as much fun on this adventure as my family did!
