Ice Cream and Animals at Beech Hill Farm and Ice Cream Barn in Hopkinton, NH
Some days you just need ice cream for lunch. We recently had one of those days and so we went over to Beech Hill Farm and Ice Cream Barn in Hopkinton, NH for some yummy ice cream. We love Beech Hill because not only are there a million flavors of ice cream, as well as frozen yogurt, sorbet, and sherbet options, there are farm animals to see!
This trip we looked at the animals first and then went for the ice cream…and then looked at the animals again. 🙂 The kiddos loved the pigs – I think partially because there is a little step next to the pen so they could easily see in.
But, really, who can resist this face??
We did have pork chops that night and both kids ate all of their pork – and commented on how much they love pork. Their dad and I had a little giggle at the irony of that…
My favorite animal was the peacock. In all of the times we have been to Beech Hill, we’ve never seen him spread his tail. However, this was our lucky day!
Little man loved bleating at the goats…
and waiving at the donkey.
There are also some sheep to “baaaa” at.
If you’re up for it, there is a huge sand pile with lots of trucks; there is also some seating for mom and dad while you watch the littles play. This is always busy when we are there, but we did manage to score a picture in the two minutes when it was empty!
If you’re looking for some plants, there is a huge barn full of flowers and other flora available for purchase.
As for the ice cream, you have the option of a cup, cone, waffle cone, or make your own sundae! There are tons of ice cream flavors, as well as fro-yo and sherbet and sorbet. Little Man can’t have dairy, so I love that he can still get some yummy “I-crem” here. I usually go for the frozen yogurt and think that it must secretly be ice cream since it’s so good!
I think L’s favorite part (aside from the ice cream) are the huge rocks in front. She loves to climb up them, sit on them, and generally pretend she’s a mountaineer.
Beech Hill also has corn mazes and a country store. We really enjoy spending time here and come quite often! It’s pretty stroller friendly, so we have used that as well as the Tula; this was Little Man’s first time free, and he did really well. It certainly helped that the area is very kid friendly with lots of space to walk and explore. It also has restrooms and a station to wash hands after visiting the animals, which is amazing!
I hope that your family enjoys this adventure as much as my family did!
